Newport News 9/11 Ceremony at CNU Gaines Theatre

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The 9/11 Honor and Remembrance Ceremony will be held this Monday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. at Christopher Newport University’s Gaines Theatre. The event is organized by the Newport News Police Department, Newport News Fire Department, and Newport News Sheriff’s Office.

The ceremony honors the lives lost in the September 11, 2001 attacks and those affected by subsequent illnesses. More than 3,000 people, including 400 first responders, perished on that fateful day.

This year, Mayor Phillip Jones and CNU President William Kelly will provide remarks. The event is open to the public.
