Krauser’s Burglary Suspect Sought by Newark Police

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for a commercial burglary.

The incident occurred on Friday, at approximately 4:10 a.m. at Krauszer’s Food Store & Deli, located in the 200 block of Halsey Street.

The suspect was caught on surveillance footage breaking the store’s window with a rock. Once inside, the individual climbed over the counter and stole 60 cartons of Newport 100 cigarettes, valued at $720.

Director Fragé encourages anyone with information about this suspect to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All tips received through the Crime Stopper line are confidential and may result in a reward.
