Man Arrested for Fatal Crash in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, NJ – Gabriel Melo, a 22-year-old resident of Newark, has been charged by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit in connection with a fatal collision that occurred on Friday, September 1.

Melo was arrested on Wednesday, and is currently held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

The incident took place around 2:15 a.m., involving a tractor-trailer and a 2018 Audi passenger vehicle.

All three occupants of the Audi were transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where Daniella Rosario, 21, was pronounced dead.

Melo was issued a summons by the Jersey City Police Department during the preliminary investigation.
