Security Guard in Critical Condition After Shooting at High School Football Game

UTICA, NY – A security guard is in critical condition following a shooting incident at Thomas R. Proctor High School on Saturday at around 4:10 pm.

The Utica Police Department reports that the shooting occurred during a football game against Binghamton.

A group of people were attempting to enter the game when a fight broke out after one individual was denied entry. Two security guards intervened, and one was shot in the back of the head. The injured guard is currently in a nearby hospital in critical but stable condition. No students were injured in the incident.

The Utica Police Department is continuing its investigation and has not identified a suspect at this time. There is no active shooter threat.
