Brooklyn Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Theft Charges

BROOKLYN, MD – On Sunday, at approximately 4:42 p.m., an officer observed a stolen 2008 orange Dodge Avenger on Ritchie Highway.

The driver failed to stop and eventually crashed into a street sign on 8th Avenue.

John Duvall-Phillip Canova, Jr., a 22-year-old male from Severn, Maryland, attempted to flee but was apprehended.

Officers recovered suspected Oxycodone pills, suspected cocaine, suspected marijuana, and $2,025 in cash.

Canova now faces multiple charges and is currently in custody.
