Fatal Motorcycle Collision Reported in Roxana

ROXANA, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 2:44 p.m., a 78-year-old man from Ocean View, Delaware, lost control of his 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 motorcycle while traveling westbound on Bayard Road.

The operator failed to negotiate a curve and exited the roadway, eventually overturning onto its left side. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending family notification.

The roadway was closed for about three hours for investigation and clearing. The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the incident.
