Two Dead in Early Morning Bridgeport Shooting

BRIDGEPORT, CT – Two men were killed early Tuesday in a shooting incident in Bridgeport. The shooting occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Carleton Avenue.

The Bridgeport Police Department was alerted to the gunfire by a ShotSpotter activation.

Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive 21-year-old man from Ansonia lying face down in the street. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Shortly after, a 30-year-old Bridgeport man was found in a nearby driveway, also suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The Detective Bureau Homicide Squad has taken over the investigation and is being assisted by the Forensic Identification Unit. Preliminary investigations suggest that this was a mutual assault between the two deceased individuals. Two firearms were recovered at the scene.
