New Jersey Can’t Afford to Pay for NYC, Biden Migrant Crisis

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey is caught in the crosshairs of the ‘Biden Border Crisis’ as migrants sent to New York City from Texas and other states who crossed the country illegally are running out of places to be housed.

As New York City Mayor Eric Adams struggles to place thousands of migrants in city-sponsored shelters, President Joe Biden said many of those migrants could soon be shipped to New Jersey.

Last week, Governor Phil Murphy, who openly supported New Jersey being a sanctuary state reversed course, saying New Jersey can’t afford to house those migrants.

Biden’s plan calls for migrant housing at the Jersey Shore, at the Atlantic City Aiport.

Today, Republicans joined Phil Murphy in working to block the migrant transfer to New Jersey.

“New Jersey cannot afford the same issues facing NYC. We must close our borders until our federal government fixes this crisis,” said GOP legislator Holly Schepisi.

Schepisi reminded her constituents what Adams said last week, “This issue will destroy New York City.”

The GOP lawmaker said if it can destroy a large city like New York City, what impact will it have on New Jersey?
