Baltimore Truck Driver Fuels Up, Drives Home with $50,000 Lottery Prize

BALTIMORE, MD – A routine fuel stop led a 69-year-old Baltimore truck driver to claim the $50,000 top prize in the Bonus Cash Doubler scratch-off game.

The man was on Harford Road making the first of several deliveries that day when he decided to refuel his truck. Noticing that Harford Citgo also sold Lottery tickets, he chose to buy a $5 Bonus Cash Doubler scratch-off, a decision he described as “random.”

His spontaneous purchase resulted in a top prize, leaving him elated and surprised inside his truck cab. He plans to keep the winnings in the bank, stating that the prize money will make life “easier, more comfortable.”

Harford Citgo, located at 2330 Harford Road, will also benefit from the win, receiving a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket. This marks the third $50,000 win in the Bonus Cash Doubler game since it was introduced in July, with five more top prizes still available.
