Motorcyclist Shot and Killed, Police Officer $25,000 Reward for Arrest

SUITLAND, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting involving 48-year-old Brian Akinfe of Temple Hills.

On September 2, at around 7:40 pm, patrol officers responded to Branch Avenue and St Barnabas Road following a report of a motorcycle crash. Akinfe was found unresponsive near his motorcycle and was later discovered to have gunshot wounds.

First responders transported Akinfe to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

The Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and is asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone with information relevant to this case is asked to contact detectives at 301-516-2512.
