School Put On Lockdown After Fugitive Flees Police in Camp Hill

CAMP HILL, PA – The Camp Hill Borough Police Department assisted the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on Thursday, in an attempt to serve an arrest warrant on Brian Acosta Melendez. The charges against Melendez stem from a robbery incident in Northumberland County.

Upon arrival at the residence located at 1913 Arlington Street, Melendez fled on foot. The Camp Hill School District was placed on a temporary lockdown while officers searched the area.

A witness last saw Melendez near N. 17th Street and High Street heading east.

The lockdown was lifted at approximately 10:45 a.m., and Melendez is no longer believed to be in the area. The Camp Hill Police Department is in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for Melendez for Flight to Avoid Apprehension.
