Teen Car Thief Sniffed out By K-9 in Odenton

ODENTON, MD – An 18-year-old from Bowie, Maryland was arrested early this morning for stealing a vehicle in the 2600 block of Midway Branch Drive.

Officers arrived on the scene after a witness reported seeing an unknown suspect break the rear window of a silver Hyundai Elantra and drive away. A search of the area led officers to the stolen car parked near Riverscape Road. The suspect, identified as Andy Jose Castro, exited the vehicle as officers approached and fled on foot.

A subsequent search involving a K-9 unit led to Castro’s arrest. He has been charged accordingly.
