Bomb Threat Shuts Down Allegany County Circuit Court

CUMBERLAND, MD – On Thursday, at approximately 08:30 AM, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office received a bomb threat aimed at the Allegany County Circuit Court.

The building and nearby areas were evacuated, and a perimeter was established.

Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies, including explosive-sniffing canines, conducted a thorough search of the building.

No dangerous or suspicious items were found, and an all-clear was given approximately 1 1/2 hours later.

The investigation to determine the origin of the threat is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.
