Homeless Man Arrested for Lafayette Street Stabbing

NEW YORK CITY, NY – Following an ongoing investigation, Jaime Gutierrez, a 51-year-old undomiciled male, was arrested and charged last Friday.

The charges include assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The arrest occurred at approximately 7:40 pm.

The initial incident took place on Thursday, at around 1:30 pm. A 20-year-old male victim was walking on Lafayette Street when he was stabbed twice in the back by an unknown individual.

The suspect fled on foot, and the victim sought medical attention independently.

The suspect is described as a male approximately 5’9″ tall, with a light complexion, medium build, and long hair in a ponytail. The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying this individual.
