Motorcyclist Airlifted After Manahawkin Motorcycle Crash

MANAHAWKIN, NJ – A collision between a motorcycle and an SUV on Friday evening resulted in one individual being airlifted to Atlantic City Trauma Center for treatment.

The accident occurred at 6:32 pm when a 2000 Harley Davidson, operated by 23-year-old Matthew Tancredi of Manahawkin, collided with a 2014 Ford Explorer driven by 74-year-old Edward Lally of Mayetta. According to reports, Lally pulled onto Route 9 from Polly Pod Road directly into the path of Tancredi, causing the collision. Tancredi was airlifted by LifeFlight for medical treatment, while Lally remained uninjured.

Traffic was diverted for approximately two hours as authorities conducted their investigation. The Traffic Safety Unit is currently investigating the incident, and witnesses are encouraged to contact 609-597-1189 Ext 8436 with any information.
