80-Year-Old Man Shot in the Head and Killed in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – An 80-year-old man, Marcelino Valerio, was killed early Sunday morning in the Bronx.

Officers patrolling the Highbridge area heard gunshots near the intersection of West 168th Street and Ogden Avenue around 1 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Valerio with a gunshot wound to the head.

Emergency Medical Services responded and pronounced Valerio dead at the scene. Valerio resided just 10 blocks away from where the incident occurred.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Police Department is actively investigating the case and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
