Boy Injured in Southeast D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A middle school-aged boy became the victim of a shooting in Southeast D.C. yesterday afternoon, according to authorities.

Officers from the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department responded to the scene shortly after 3 p.m. Upon their arrival, they found the boy conscious and breathing.

He was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, with his current condition remaining unknown. The shooting unfolded in the 5000 block of Ivory Walters Lane.

Law enforcement is urging anyone with information to refrain from taking direct action but instead, contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a text tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
