Man Fatally Shot In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man’s life was cut short on Sunday afternoon in Northeast D.C. as he fell victim to a fatal shooting.

The Washington, D.C. Police Department arrived at the 1200 block of Brentwood Road shortly after 4 p.m. following reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers encountered the victim, unconscious and non-breathing. The victim’s was taken to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities promptly issued a lookout for a black male matching the description, which included a beard, curly hair, black pants, a black sweatshirt, and a medium complexion. The suspect was last observed fleeing the scene on foot in an undisclosed direction.

This incident remains an active investigation, with law enforcement urging individuals with information to refrain from taking action and instead contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or utilize the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411 to provide crucial tips.
