17-Year-Old Charged for Bringing Loaded Handgun to Oakland Mills High School

HOWARD COUNTY, MD – A 17-year-old male student has been charged by Howard County Police for bringing a loaded handgun into Oakland Mills High School.

The incident came to light when a parent of another student reported that her son had received a threatening private message from the suspect overnight.

Upon his arrival at school, the suspect was immediately escorted to the school office.

Administrators conducted a search of the student’s bag and discovered the loaded weapon. The school resource officer was present during the search and subsequently took the student into custody.

No other students were threatened, and no injuries were reported. Howard County Police asked the public to report any concerning or threatening behavior.
