70-Year-Old Manhattan Woman Thwarts Home Invasion, Perp Flees Down Fire Escape

NEW YORK, NY – An unidentified male attempted burglary in a 70-year-old woman’s apartment by climbing a fire escape and entering through a window, only to flee when confronted.

The incident took place on Saturday at around 6:50 p.m., in a residential building near the intersection of West 76th Street and Broadway. The individual pushed open a window to gain entry but was unsuccessful in removing any property. The woman was unharmed, and no property was taken.
