Subway Rider Beaten and Robbed Inside East Bronx Subway Station

NEW YORK, NY – A 38-year-old man was assaulted and robbed by unidentified assailants as he exited a northbound “2” train at the Gun Hill Road subway station.

The incident occurred on Friday at approximately 3:40 a.m. The attackers punched and kicked the victim throughout his body and forcibly took his backpack before fleeing to an unknown location.

The victim sustained pain and bruising to the head and was treated on the scene by EMS.

Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals involved.
