Two Injured in Head-On Crash With School Bus in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, NJ – A van collided head-on with a stationary school bus early Monday morning, injuring at least two individuals. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Central Avenue and was captured on the school bus’s dashboard camera.

The footage revealed that the school bus had come to a complete stop to load students when a car halted in the opposing lane. The van, attempting to evade the stationary car, swerved at the last moment, crashing into the school bus head-on.

Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith confirmed that multiple people sustained minor oral injuries as a result of the collision.

Information about the age of the students and the type of school they were headed to remains unknown.

Police did not release any further information.
