Arrest Made in North Street Stabbing

HARRISBURG, PA – On Thursday, the Harrisburg Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of North Street following reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers identified the alleged assailant as Wilmer Vazquez-Algarin. Vazquez-Algarin is believed to have visited the location, from which he was legally barred due to an active Protection from Abuse order, and subsequently stabbed an adult male victim in the face and chest.

Eyewitnesses managed to disarm and restrain Vazquez-Algarin until the police arrived. The injured victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Vazquez-Algarin now faces multiple charges, including two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count each of Stalking, Simple Assault, and Possession of Instrument of Crime.
