CATAWISSA, PA – On Monday, Chief Laidacker of the Catawissa Police Department responded to a report of a young male child in pajamas standing in the middle of North Fourth Street near the 5-points intersection.

Upon arrival, Chief Laidacker encountered Jared Cochran, who was visibly agitated, shouting, and pointing to a window at 347 Pine Street.

Cochran, appearing to be under the influence of a controlled substance, was highly combative and non-compliant with officers’ requests.

He resisted arrest, injuring Chief Laidacker in the process. Cochran was eventually detained and transported to the Catawissa Police Department.

Jared Cochran faces multiple charges, including Aggravated Assault against officers, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Resisting Arrest, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment. He was transferred to Columbia County Prison for probation violation and pending charges. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
