Shooting in Northeast D.C. Claims One Life and Injures Another

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A shooting unfolded in Northeast, D.C. on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the death of one man and leaving another injured.

The incident transpired at approximately 4:30 p.m. when officers from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunfire erupting in the 5200 block of Foote Street. Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered two individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, one of the men succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The second victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and is expected to recover.

The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old Dwain Francis Day, a resident of Southwest, D.C.
