Stabbing Incident on Sunnyside Terrace Leaves One Dead

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Francesco Pompilii, an 81-year-old resident of 40 Sunnyside Terrace, was pronounced dead following a stabbing incident that took place on Friday, at 43 Sunnyside Terrace.

The New York City Police Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 4:40 pm and found three injured males at the scene.

Pompilii suffered critical stab wounds to his neck and body. Another 78-year-old male, who also sustained multiple stab wounds, is now in stable condition after initially being transported in critical condition.

A 51-year-old male with lacerations to his hands was transported in stable condition. A 57-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene, and a knife was recovered.

The investigation continues.
