Chris Christie Says Bob Menendez is Corrupt and Should Resign

U.S. Senator Menendez walks to the Senate floor for a procedural vote at the U.S. Capitol in Washington

NEWARK, NJ – Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie today said U.S. Senator Bob Menendez should resign and in so many words, said the Democrat politician is corrupt.

Christie, who served as a federal prosecutor before becoming governor went directly for a conviction on Twitter.

“The indictment against Bob Menendez is sickening. No public official making $174,000 a year should have nearly $500,000 in cash stuffed in clothes in his house, not to mention gold bars. He should resign,” he said. “I spent seven years of my career as US Attorney fighting political corruption in our state. We convicted 130 public office holders without defeat. I know how to fight corruption because I’ve done it. His conduct is unacceptable and he needs to go.”

Christie is now running for President of the United States, where trails behind former U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Christies has been polling on average in the 2-3% range in most major national polls.
