Brooklyn Man Dies Two Weeks After Stabbing Escalating Charges to Murder

BROOKLYN, NY – A 43-year-old man succumbed to his injuries two weeks after being stabbed multiple times in the torso, turning an initial assault charge into a homicide investigation.

Mamuka Kuloshvili was found with stab wounds on September 9 after police responded to a 911 call reporting a physical fight at 3024 Brighton 8th Street. Kuloshvili was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in critical condition.

On September 23, Kuloshvili was pronounced deceased.

Giorgi Khajalia, also a 43-year-old Brooklyn resident, was arrested at 0100 hours on September 9, initially charged with assault. Khajalia was taken into custody at the scene and is now subject to an ongoing homicide investigation.

Khajalia’s charges are expected to be elevated.
