Wilmington Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Charges for 20-Year-Old

WILMINGTON, DE – A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of Angel Velazquez-Bedolla, 20, on multiple gun offenses early this morning. The stop occurred at approximately 2:06 a.m. when a Delaware State Trooper saw a blue Toyota Corolla making several traffic violations on South Market Street near Rogers Road.

The trooper initiated a stop and identified the driver and sole occupant as Velazquez-Bedolla. A computer check showed an active capias for the individual, leading to his arrest without incident. Consent was given for a search of the vehicle, during which a loaded firearm was discovered in the glovebox. Velazquez-Bedolla is not allowed to own a firearm or ammunition due to his age.
