Central Park Gang Member Sentenced for 2020 Homicide

BUFFALO, NY – On Monday, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced the sentencing of 27-year-old Raquan R. Reid of Cheektowaga.

On Monday morning, Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi sentenced Reid to 13 years in prison, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.

On October 20, 2020, at around 3:58 p.m., 33-year-old Winston Reese was fatally shot by two individuals outside a gas station on Main Street near Glenwood Avenue in Buffalo.

The two suspected gunmen have since passed away. Reid, identified as a member of the Central Park Gang, acted as the getaway driver. He pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree on July 17.

DA Flynn praised the Buffalo Police Department’s Detective Anthony Lapiana, Detective Erin McCarthy, and Lt. Craig Macy for their dedication to the investigation.
