Philadelphia Man Arrested in Newark for Drug-Related Offenses After Undercover Operation

NEWARK, DE – Following a one-month investigation, Newark Police have arrested Wilman Meran Garcia, 40, of Philadelphia, charging him with multiple drug-related offenses.

The Street Crimes Unit of the Newark Police Department initially obtained information that Meran Garcia was involved in drug sales in the Newark area. An undercover officer successfully purchased heroin and fentanyl from him in late September. Subsequent to the transaction, Meran Garcia was stopped and arrested by other Newark officers without incident.

Garcia made an initial court appearance via video before Justice of the Peace Court #11. He was ordered to be held in default of $7,500 secured bail and was transferred to the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington.
