Child Struck by Vehicle in Penn Hills

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – An incident occurred when a 2-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle on Lynnwood Drive.

On a recent morning, at exactly 7:59 am, the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was alerted to a child hit by a vehicle in the 100 block of the street. First responders immediately located the young child with grave injuries at the end of a driveway.

She was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, but she couldn’t survive the injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Based on the preliminary findings, it appears a parent was leaving the residence and inadvertently struck the child with their vehicle. The parent involved is fully cooperating with the investigators.
