Bethel Park Man Arrested for Brutal Assault at Aerosmith Concert

PITTSBURGH, PA – Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced the arrest of 24-year-old Dereck Pritchard in connection to a violent assault on an usher during an Aerosmith concert at PPG Paints Arena on September 6.

Pritchard was apprehended at his Bethel Park residence by detectives following an investigation that included witness interviews and surveillance footage from the arena.

The victim, who also works for Allegheny County Pre-Trial Services, sustained multiple injuries from being hit with an empty liquor bottle and subsequently stomped on his head and neck. He was hospitalized with a concussion and facial injuries.

Pritchard has been transported to the Allegheny County jail and faces multiple charges including aggravated assault and attempted homicide.
