Speed Monitor Installed Near Frederick Elementary School

FREDERICK, MD – The Northbound Lane of Motter Avenue, just beyond the North Frederick Elementary School, now boasts a relocated automated speed monitoring system.

The primary goal of such systems is to enhance road safety by curbing speeding violations.

In line with Maryland’s legal guidelines, multiple signs have been strategically placed on Motter Avenue, informing drivers of the speed monitoring system’s presence.

The City of Frederick encourages every motorist to be cautious and adhere to speed limits.

From October 2, a 30-day grace period commences where speeding vehicles will be recorded, but no fines issued. As of November 1, any vehicle clocked exceeding the speed limit by 12 mph will receive a citation. These $40 fines will neither be reported to insurance firms nor result in any points on driving licenses.
