Teenager Shot Multiple Times Dead In D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A shooting in Northwest D.C. claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday afternoon. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has taken charge of the investigation.

The shooting happened shortly before 4 p.m. at the 1400 block of New Jersey Avenue, where officers were dispatched following reports of a shooting. Upon reaching the scene, they found 16-year-old Maurice Jackson from Northeast D.C. with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Jackson succumbed to his injuries.

Initial findings suggest Jackson was near the crossroads of New Jersey Avenue and P Street in Northwest D.C. when he engaged in a conversation with a group of individuals. The discussion took a fatal turn as one individual drew a firearm and fired multiple rounds at Jackson.

Authorities are urging anyone with valuable information regarding the case to come forward and contact the police at 202-727-9099. There’s also an option to submit anonymous tips by texting 50411, ensuring that the sender’s identity remains protected.
