Woman Struck and Killed by NJ Transit Train

ELIZABETH, NJ – A yet-to-be-identified woman died from her injuries after being hit by an NJ Transit train in the vicinity of North Elizabeth station during the late afternoon hours of Saturday.

NJ Transit confirmed the incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. He also stated that no other injuries to passengers or crew members were recorded.

The train, No. 7844, had left Trenton at 2:58 p.m., heading for New York Penn Station at the time of the accident.

By 5:10 p.m., trains were again operational in the affected area but were required to maintain reduced speeds, according to Smith.
