Woman Shot Multiple Times Dead In D.C., Suspect Arrested

WASHINGTON, DC – A man has been taken into custody following the fatal shooting of a woman in her home on the 4000 block of 13th Street in Southeast Washington, D.C.

Patricia Johnson, 52, was found dead inside her residence after officers responded to reports of a shooting at 3:49 a.m. yesterday. The victim suffered from gunshot wound injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Desmond Thurston, 46, also of Southeast D.C., has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.

The investigation by the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch has indicated that the offense was domestic in nature.
