Deptford Man Arrested for Gloucester Township Stabbing

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – A Deptford man has been arrested and charged in connection to a stabbing that took place last night in Gloucester Township.

At approximately 11:49 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, Gloucester Township Police responded to a reported stabbing in the La Bonne Vie neighborhood. Officers found a 26-year-old male victim suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital for medical treatment.

Detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Gloucester Township Police Department identified the suspect as 30-year-old John Brant, Jr. of Deptford. Brant faces multiple charges including 1st-degree Attempted Murder, 2nd-degree Aggravated Assault, and other weapons-related charges. He was taken into custody this morning and is being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.
