Magnolia Teen Charged in Murder of Missing Hurlock Man

DOVER, DE – Delaware State Police arrested 17-year-old Shakur Bowen in connection to the murder of a man who had been reported missing from Hurlock, Maryland.

David Thomas Jr., 41, was reported missing by his family on September 22 after borrowing a car from a family member in Kent County and failing to return. Authorities issued a Gold Alert and initiated an investigation.

Detectives found human remains in a tax ditch in Meadowbrook Acres on September 29. The Division of Forensic Science confirmed the remains belonged to Thomas.

Through investigative efforts, Bowen was identified as the suspect in the shooting death of Thomas. Bowen was apprehended on October 2 and charged at Troop 3. The investigation continues.
