NYPD Seeks Assistance in Identifying Suspect in Cellphone Theft

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is asking assistance from the public in relation to a grand larceny incident that unfolded at the William Street and Fulton Street subway station.

On Wednesday, September 13, around 12:20 pm, an unidentified male allegedly snatched a cellphone from a 48-year-old woman on the southbound 2 train platform and then fled on foot.

The suspect is described as approximately 5’6″ tall, weighing 160 lbs, with a dark complexion. He was last spotted wearing a red and black sweater, black pants, and white sneakers.

The NYPD encourages anyone with pertinent information to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline. Anonymous tips can be provided by calling 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish speakers, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
