Pedestrian Critically Injured in Brooklyn Park Crash

BROOKLYN PARK, MD – A 46-year-old male pedestrian from Brooklyn, Maryland, sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a Ford Explorer on Ritchie Highway near Creswell Road. The incident occurred at approximately 4:10 a.m. on October 2.

The Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on Ritchie Highway when the driver, a 69-year-old male from Baltimore, Maryland, found the pedestrian lying in the road. Despite efforts to avoid the collision, the pedestrian was struck. He was immediately transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for advanced medical treatment.

The driver of the 2021 Ford Explorer called 911 and stayed at the scene until emergency services arrived. He was not injured in the incident. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
