Woman, Man Victim in New Castle Carjacking

NEW CASTLE, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating an armed carjacking that unfolded in a storage lot in New Castle on Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 4:36 p.m., troopers were dispatched to 152 South Dupont Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found that a 28-year-old victim had driven into the parking lot in a Chevrolet Impala intending to drop off a 59-year-old victim. Before the victims could switch vehicles, an unidentified black male approached them, brandished a firearm, and demanded money. Both victims, residents of New Castle, fled the scene while the suspect fired several shots in their direction. The suspect then stole two bags of clothing from the 59-year-old victim’s truck and escaped in the Impala.

No injuries were reported following the incident. The stolen vehicle was recovered on October 1 in the New Castle area. Surveillance images and video are currently unavailable.
