Suspect Charged in Murder of Upper Marlboro Woman

UPPER MARLBORO, MD – On Thursday, September 28, 43-year-old Keith Maybin, Jr. was charged with the murder of his girlfriend, 43-year-old Courtney Blacksher, inside their home by the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit.

At approximately 4:05 pm, officers found Blacksher, suffering from gunshot wounds in an apartment on the 200 block of Harry S Truman Drive; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Maybin was apprehended later the same day at around 7:10 pm by Seat Pleasant Police officers after he allegedly threatened two unrelated victims with a gun on the 8600 block of Central Avenue.

These victims were unharmed. The suspect now faces charges including first and second-degree murder and assault, and is currently being held by the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

The Homicide Unit is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident and asked anyone with information relevant to the case to call them at 301-516-2512.
