Baby Found Dead in Bathtub Inside Bronx Apartment Ruled as Homicide

BRONX, NY – An incident occurred on Sunday, April 3, 2022, when police were called to 515 Calhoun Avenue, in Throgs Neck, following reports of a female infant in distress.

Upon arrival, at approximately 9:05 pm, officers discovered 6-month-old Dalilah Crespo, unconscious and unresponsive, in the bathtub inside the apartment.

Emergency Medical Services swiftly transported Crespo to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where, despite best efforts, she was pronounced deceased. The Medical Examiner is tasked with determining the exact cause of death.

As of Wednesday, the New York City Police Department has declared the incident as a Homicide, intensifying the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding young Crespo’s death.

No arrests have been made. Further information will be disclosed as the investigation progresses.
