Social Media Post Brings Cops to Glen Burnie’s Man Home for Illegal Gun

GLEN BURNIE, MD – Northern District detectives acted swiftly after spotting a livestream on social media in which a man brandished a handgun with an extended magazine. The video led detectives to the 6400 block of Freedom Drive in Glen Burnie, where they attempted to approach the individual.

Upon noticing the authorities, the suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Tremar Antonio Copes of Glen Burnie, tried to escape on foot. In his haste, he discarded the purse containing the weapon. Copes was apprehended shortly after.

Inside the purse, detectives found a black handgun loaded with 24 rounds, an extended 30-round magazine, and another black Glock handgun with eight rounds.

Copes now faces charges related to the weapons violation.
