Newark Police Continue Search for Suspect Wanted for Grocery Store Shooting

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Police Division is intensifying efforts to identify a suspect in relation to a shooting that transpired last Wednesday, September 29.

At about 3:25 p.m., an altercation broke out at Jimenez Gabino Grocery Store on the 300 block of 14th Avenue, escalating when one individual discharged a firearm.

An innocent customer, inadvertently caught in the turmoil, was wounded in the arm and subsequently received treatment at University Hospital.

The suspects, both male, fled the scene and remain at large. The man, whom the Police Division seeks, was attired in black Champion sweatpants, a Rugrats shirt, and a gray and black jacket.
