Suspect Apprehended Following Shooting in Macon County

MACON COUNTY, N.C. – A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident that unfolded on Monday, in the Iotla community.

Macon County deputies, while serving a civil paper at a residence, were met with gunfire, resulting in one male victim sustaining critical injuries.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital, with no updates on his condition available at this time.

The suspect was apprehended without delay, and no deputies were injured during the incident. The State Bureau of Investigations has been engaged to assist in the ongoing crime scene investigation. Further details regarding the incident and the suspect have not been released.
