UTICA, NY – A domestic dispute escalated on Monday, when a man was struck by a vehicle driven by the mother of his children. Utica Police units were dispatched to a local hotel on N. Genesee St, where they encountered the injured male and learned of the preceding events.

The male informed officers that he had gone to the location to confront the woman, Jyanna Gibson, age 26 of Utica, regarding her alleged neglect of their children, aged 9 and 4.

An argument ensued, and as the male walked away, Gibson accelerated the vehicle, striking him and knocking him to the ground. He was transported to a local hospital by the Utica Fire Department.
