Chesapeake Woman Charged with Homicide in August Shooting

CHESAPEAKE, VA – Martisha Parker, a 28-year-old woman from Chesapeake, has been charged with homicide following an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred on Shady Ln. in Chesapeake on Saturday, August 20.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 2100 block of Shady Lane at 2:53 AM, where they discovered 29-year-old Michael Morgan of Suffolk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Morgan was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Parker was arrested on a subsequent Wednesday afternoon and is currently in custody. The investigation into the incident and the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting is still ongoing.

The police department is seeking assistance from the public in gathering more information about the incident.
