Roanoke Shooting Victim Hospitalized, Suspect Arrested

ROANOKE, VA – Early Thursday morning, Roanoke police were dispatched to the intersection of 9th Street SE and Jamison Avenue SE after reports of a gunshot victim.

While officers were en route, they received information that the victim was being taken to a hospital by a citizen.

Upon arriving at the hospital, officers made contact with the injured individual who had sustained serious injuries from the gunshot.

After an investigation, police identified and arrested Shaquai J. Cary on charges of malicious wounding.

The incident remains under investigation.
